Practice Policy

Welcome to Integrative Psychiatry of Manhattan.
We are looking forward to meeting you.
Please review our policies to clarify & facilitate our work together.

Treatment Process

[1] INITIAL CONSULTATION:
The initial consultation consists of a 60-90 minute session
during which we will get a sense of your treatment goals and
gather necessary information (which may include lab work,
information from other providers) to come to a preliminary
diagnostic formulation and discuss potential treatment
recommendations with you.

[2] FOLLOW-UP SESSIONS:
Monthly medication management sessions are approximately
25-30 minutes long and weekly therapy sessions are 40-45
minutes.

[3] FREQUENCY:
All patients on medication must be seen at minimum once every
3 months to maintain a treatment relationship. It is the patient
(or parent’s) responsibility to set up these appointments far in
advance. As per New York State law, patients prescribed
stimulant medications require visits every 30 days.

[4] REFILLS:
We recommend that medication refills occur at patient visits,
which allows us to review the medication. For refills between
visits, please provide us at least three business days notice.

Payment Information

BILLING STATEMENTS:
Patients are billed on the day of the appointment. We automatically charge the credit card on
file. Statements can be viewed and downloaded from the Patient Portal, and include detailed
codes to enable you to claim back from your insurance company.
If fees are not paid, we reserve the right to cancel future appointments until the account has
been settled.

INSURANCE REIMBURSEMENT:
Our practice does not accept any insurance directly. We recommend calling your insurance
company to confirm your out-of-network benefits. If you have more questions, we are happy
to explain how to persue reimbursement.

CANCELLATIONS:
Cancellations or changes in appointments require 48 hours notice, or patients will becharged in full. Please note that charges for cancellations cannot be coded as a medical orpsychiatric visit and therefore cannot be reimbursed by insurance companies.

Video Visits

EMERGENCY PROCEDURES:
The patient will provide location address at the beginning of each video visit and understands
that local emergency resources will be contacted and sent there in case of an emergency.INSURANCE

PRIVACY AND SECURITY:

Video sessions are encrypted, anonymous and adhere to HIPAA data privacy requirements. We
will not record sessions and neither should the patient. The patient understands that there are
still potential risks to this technology, including interruptions, unauthorized access and technical
difficulties. Headphones can be worn to ensure privacy and reduce echo.
